How do I place an order?
Simply browse listings, add products to your cart, and complete checkout using our secure payment system.
When do I pay?
Payment is collected when you place your order.
How do I receive my order?
Most products are available for local pickup. Pickup instructions will be provided by the seller after your order is accepted.
Can I cancel an order?
Cancellation requests should be directed to the seller. Refund eligibility may vary depending on the circumstances of the order.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted global payment processor.
Can I contact a seller before purchasing?
At launch, communication occurs through the order process. Additional communication features may be added in future updates.

How do I become a seller?
Create an account, complete your shop profile, connect Stripe, and submit your shop for approval.
Why do I need Stripe?
Stripe securely processes payments and sends funds directly to your account. Local Roots does not store your banking information.
Do I need my own website?
No. You can use your social media site, or your Local Roots public seller profile and storefront.
Do I need a business license?
Requirements vary depending on what you sell and where you operate. Sellers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
What can I sell?
Local Roots is designed for local food, farm products, plants, handmade goods, crafts, art, and other locally produced products.
How do I get paid?
Payments are processed through Stripe and transferred directly to your connected Stripe account.
How much does it cost to sell?
Local Roots offers affordable subscription plans designed to support businesses of different sizes. Visit our Pricing page for current plan details. The first 50 sellers will receive additional discounts on plans.
How long does seller approval take?
Most seller applications are reviewed within a few business days, but our founder is on her phone all the time anyway, so it usually is pretty quick!
Will my home address be displayed publicly?
No. Local Roots protects seller privacy by displaying approximate map locations. Exact pickup addresses are only shared with buyers after an order is placed when required for pickup.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Subscription management is available through your seller account settings.
What happens if I can’t fulfill an order?
You should contact the buyer as soon as possible. Consistently failing to fulfill orders may impact your seller account standing.
