User Responsibilities and Conduct
This section outlines your obligations while using Local Roots, explaining how to engage respectfully and securely with our marketplace to ensure a positive experience for all users.

Beta Platform
Local Roots is currently operating as a beta platform. Features, functionality, pricing, policies, and services may change as the platform evolves.
Sellers are responsible for their products
Each seller is solely responsible for the products they list and sell — including accuracy of descriptions, product quality, safety, and meeting any applicable health, labelling, or food-handling requirements.
Taxes and compliance
Sellers are responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable taxes and for complying with all local, provincial, and federal laws that apply to their business.
Buyers and pickup
Buyers must follow the pickup instructions provided by the seller and arrange pickup in a timely manner. Failure to pick up an order may result in forfeit of the order.
Local Roots is a marketplace
Local Roots provides the marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers. We are not the seller of any product listed on the platform and are not a party to any transaction between a buyer and a seller.
Refunds and Disputes
Refunds, returns, and disputes are the responsibility of the seller unless otherwise stated. Local Roots is not responsible for resolving disputes between buyers and sellers but may assist at its discretion.
Prohibited Products
Sellers may not list illegal products, counterfeit goods, weapons, controlled substances, tobacco products, or any item prohibited by applicable laws. Local Roots reserves the right to remove any listing or suspend any account at its sole discretion.
Limitation of Liability
Local Roots is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Local Roots is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, claim, dispute, or other issue arising from products sold through the platform, transactions between users, pickup arrangements, or use of the marketplace.
Listing and account moderation
Local Roots may remove listings or suspend accounts at any time if we believe they violate these terms, infringe others’ rights, or pose a safety or compliance risk.
Local Roots reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend, or remove seller accounts at its sole discretion. Applicants whose applications are not approved may submit a new application in the future if circumstances change or additional information becomes available.
